Social media giant Facebook is focusing on their business users, providing businesses with more opportunities to highlight a product to a specific type of customer.
Facebook has announced Product Ads, a new solution the social media service says will help businesses advertise different products in their catalogue to specific customers across different devices.
The new tools enable businesses to create advertising campaigns and upload product catalogues, or they can just let Facebook deliver their products to the right customers automatically. Specific products, such as the highest selling and the most viewed, can be highlighted.
The automatic option enables Facebook to target user locations and interests, and whether or not they have visited the business’ website or app.
“Product ads can be customized for use throughout the customer journey, from discovery/awareness through purchase,” Facebook said in their official news post.
Product ads can also take into account the amount of stock a business has for sale, turning off ads when products have sold out.
It’s a smart move by Facebook, allowing them to capitalise on the estimated 15 million businesses on the service by giving them those with multiple products the further opportunity to get their products noticed.
