Dynamic Business’ own associate editor Rhiannon Sawyer will be among the panel at Sydney Business Month’s Pitch To Media event in September.

Many small businesses are unsure how to approach the media when it comes to promoting their product. Who do they contact and what do they say?

During Sydney Business Month, SMBs will have the opportunity to have their pitches heard by a panel of media representatives who will offer feedback on advice on how to proceed.

The panel, consisting of Valerie Khoo, an SMH technology journalist, Angus from LifeHacker, journalist for TV, print and online Serkan Ozturk and Dynamic Business associate editor Rhiannon Sawyer, will listen to pitches from SMBs about their businesses and provide analysis of how they can best turn their story into a story that would interest their readers.

During the event the media representatives will cover what makes a good pitch, how to follow it up, what catches the eye of the media, common mistakes and how to improve your pitches.

The event will take place during the ‘Branding and Marketing’ focus week of Sydney Business Month.

Tickets are still available if you would like to attend. Just click here.

This is the last week to buy tickets for any of the Sydney Business Month events, so you’ll need to be quick. You can get a 20 coupon pass for $199 and share it among friends, staff and clients, or buy a 7 coupon pass for $100. This is great value, given that most of the speakers charge over $199 for their workshops normally.

As an added bonus, ticket holders will be given the opportunity to attend the Friday Small Business Networking Drinks. The drinks will be held from 4pm to 6.30pm at Kaz Cafe every Friday in September, with every drink raising money for Social September.
