Databee Business Solutions has announced plans to have one kilogram of carbon dioxide removed for every dollar its clients spend.
The local Perth based data development company will invest in the new worldwide trend of carbon offsetting.
Carbon offsetting requires the emissions generated through an activity to be calculated, and then an initiative that reduces the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by the same amount follows.
"While the rest of the developed world takes steps to reverse the alarming trend of rising CO2 emissions, the Federal Government has been idle. We want to encourage other businesses to bypass government inaction by offsetting CO2 for them," says Rory Murray, company director.
While Murray does not see carbon offsetting as a solution to global warming, he believes it will raise awareness about required lifestyle changes.
