Three new tools have been released by the Australian Tax Office to help businesses owners understand and meet their tax and super obligations.
Available free from the Tax Office website (www.ato.gov.au) the tools are designed to take less than 15 minutes, guiding users through a series of questions, and delivering an online report at the end of each session.
The tools will help an employer or contractor work out if their new or existing workers are defined as employees or contractors for tax and super purposes; to determine if they are obliged to make super contributions for their employees; and to calculate how much super they should be contributing for eligible workers.
