Removalists, cleaners, and electricians have been named Australia’s top performing trade and service based small businesses.
A report from Oneflare, a marketplace for local services, analysed 35,000 Australian trade and service SMBs across 250 categories to find the top 50 performing local business industries over the last 3 months.
Marcus Lim, CEO of Oneflare, said these SMBs are experiencing growth as they embrace the internet and see that it offers more opportunities to generate leads than other advertising methods.
“Businesses that traditionally only advertised in newspapers are now listing online and recognising the importance of online reviews at a phenomenal rate. It’s obvious that demand for these local business services is being met with enthusiasm by the Australian public who expect local businesses to be listed online now more than ever,” Lim said.
Handymen, fencers, and removalists are at the forefront of the move online.
Removalists have experienced growth of over 40 per cent since the second quarter of this year, while cleaners have become some of the most searched for businesses, making up almost 10 per cent of job requests.
Demand for outdoor job services is also booming. Requests for services like landscaping, gardening, and pest control has increased by 190 per cent since the second quarter.
On the other hand, searches for financial services have dropped in the last three months as the end of financial year demand eased.
