While occupational health and safety compliance is a burden for most businesses, it can alert you to inefficient or dangerous practices that you might look to change. One way of doing this is keeping a ‘near miss’ logbook for incidents that might have resulted in physical injury but didn’t. After logging a near miss, you need to identify the problem and show how you’ve dealt with it.

For example, stumbles may indicate that you need to look for a better way to keep wires off the ground, or falling objects may indicate poor or old storage facilities that you’ll need to look to replace.

What do you think?
