Launched today on Valentine’s Day, the new Cofounda app for iPhone and Android aims to help entrepreneurs connect with business partners and investors.
The location-based instant messaging service connects people, skills and ideas for business and beyond.
“In 2011, Australians registered over 60,000 domain names each month,” says Angela Vithoulkas, marketing director, cofounda. “This represents tens of thousands of new ideas that a platform such as cofounda helps by connecting the right people and skillsets, turning their dreams into reality”.
Cofounder speed dating events are on trend at the moment both locally and globally and an application like this provides the opportunity for users to increase the number of connections to be made.
“One of the biggest challenges that entrepreneurs face is finding the right cofounder for their idea or project. The process can be long, arduous and demotivating. Our goal is to change that,” says Dan Filmer, CEO.
Statistically, new businesses founded by more than two parties have a 15 percent higher rate of return than that of their solo counterparts.
Cofounda combines geo location technology and instant messaging to assist members to connect with potential cofounders, consultants, resources and services that will assist in making their startup journey successful. Users are able to chat in real time with those that have complementary skillsets and interests vitally important to their ideas success.
Cofounda is free and available in both the iPhone and Android app stores. Mat Beeche, who founded Shoe String Media Group, and Jarrod O’Connell (co-founder of 3Play Technology Group), are the other board members.
