A new website aimed at helping customers reduce waiting times on the phone when talking to customer service departments is proving to be popular with Australian consumers.
ihateholding is a user-edited website offering ideas on the quickest ways to get through to a person at popular Australian businesses. The tips are given a 5-star rating and users can post additional comments on their effectiveness.
The site has proven to be popular with consumers, with thousands of people visiting the site since it was first registered in 2006 and more than 8790 people viewing the Westpac page alone.
Customer service expert Martin Grunstein said customer service in Australia is a disgrace but a website such as ihateholding wouldn’t fix the problem.
Grunstein who has worked with more than 500 Australasian companies across 100 industry says companies need to hire more staff to ease the frustration for customers.
“Even when times are financially tough, customers need to be the top priority,” he said.
