The Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 is now available on the Telstra 4G LTE network, making it the first tablet to launch onto Telstra’s new, super-fast 4G network.
SMB owners keen to boost the speed at which they conduct business on-the-go can buy the GALAXY Tab 8.9 4G with 16GB of storage outright for $720, while the 32GB version can be purchased for $840.
Both devices can teamed with a range of plans costing between $29 and $89 per month, which include monthly data allowances and gives eligible customers to option pay the device off over 24 months.
According to Telstra Mobile executive director Warwick Bray, 4G connectivity promises to make the mobile tablet an even more powerful way to browse the web, watch video, social network and conduct business on the move.
“The leap in internet speeds available on GALAXY Tab 8.9 4G means customers can stream HD video and music over the internet, load magazines faster and enjoy rich internet content traditionally confined to a PC screen,” he said.
The GALAXY Tab 8.9 4G features a high definition 8.9-inch touch screen, a 1.5 GHz dual core processor for fast multi-tasking and weighs just 470 grams. It runs on the Android 3.2 operating software, which will be upgradable to Android 4.0 in the future and is powered by a 6,100 mAh battery.
Telstra has also launched its Pre-Paid USB 4G today, which will give pre-paid users access to its superfast 4G coverage.
Customers can purchase the Telstra Pre-Paid USB 4G for $129 and it comes pre-loaded with 3GB of data to use in Australia with 30 days’ expiry.
Customers using 4G devices within 4G coverage areas will have access to typical download speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and typical upload speeds from 1Mbps to 10Mbps.
