A free service offering small business advice and support over the phone has been given a big tick of approval by callers, according to Small Business Minister Dr Craig Emerson.
Dr Emerson said a survey of callers revealed 90 percent were satisfied with the service, with more than 2200 people taking advantage of the service since its launch last month.
Dr Emerson refuted claims by the Opposition that the site was merely “window dressing.”
“By criticising and opposing Rudd Government initiatives to support small business and by calling for the early withdrawal of economic stimulus, the Opposition is betraying the interests of small business for its own political self interest,” he said.
Shadow Small Business Minister Steven Ciobo previously claimed that the support line would cost taxpayers $10 million over two years and provided almost no value to small business.
Business people can phone the small business support team toll free on 1800 777 275 between 8am and 6pm weekdays.
