Skype launches online shop in Australia

Skype today announced the availability of its global Skype Online Shop to users in Australia.

Designed with user friendliness in mind, the Skype online shop enables users in Australia to browse and buy a range of Skype CertifiedTM accessories and hardware from third party merchants whom Skype has partnered with.

The new online shop allows consumers and businesses the ability to compare prices, find the best deal and shop from their preferred merchant; along with the convenience of having items shipped directly to them.

Dan Neary, Asia Pacific General Manager and Vice President for Skype said they are committed to providing consumers and businesses with a richer Skype experience through the online shop.

“We are excited to extend the Skype shop to Australia and make available to our users Skype Certified™ accessories which can enhance their user experience by broadening how and where they use Skype.”

The Skype shop offers a range of products for sale from third party merchants including wireless headsets and web cameras.

In addition to the new online store, Skype is committed to extending their services for businesses, with a number of new initiatives targeted specifically towards business expected to launch towards the end of the year.

According to Neary, 35 percent of Skype users indicate they use Skype for business purposes, and it is an important market for them.

“We are committed to expanding our offerings for businesses. Skype is a very beneficial tool for businesses, allowing them to save money, time and stay ahead.”
