Australian car rental website Oodles is calling on their Twitter followers to compose a tagline for the company’s new logo as part of a new branding strategy for the business.
Oodles recently expanded their brand offering to include frequent travellers and VIP car rental members, launching a new-look website, offering a range of additional features and functionality, along with a new logo and tagline. The company is now calling on customers to submit their own ideas for the Oodles tagline via Twitter, with the winning entry receiving $1000.
Commenting on the competition, Oodles founder Steve Sherlock said it is a way to engage with their customers and find out what the Oodles brand means to them.
“Ultimately we realised that it doesn’t really matter what the brand means to us; we need to know what it means to our customers. So instead of writing a tagline and then imposing it on the market, we have decided to throw this part of the process open to crowdsourcing.”
According to Sherlock, every suggestion will be published live on the http://twitter.com/oodles page, and initiated on the oodles.com site via a Twitter API.
Twitter users have until the end of September to provide their suggestions, with the winner announced in October.
