Enterprise Connect, an Australian Government initiative had helped support over 2000 small and medium sized businesses in the nation’s manufacturing industry since its introduction, according to Richard Marles, Parliamentary Secretary for Innovation and Industry.
Enterprise Connect provides free business reviews to eligible firms and helps them implement the recommendations through access to dollar-for-dollar funding of up to $20,000.
Marles said the program has provided direct support to up to 40 local SME manufacturing businesses in the Maroondah City Council, in particular, Bayswater foil packaging firm Confoil.
“Confoil was able to tap into the vast bank of knowledge and experience held by Enterprise Connect’s team of around ninety business advisers posted around Australia,” he said.
“As a result, the company found considerable operating efficiencies by streamlining business processes and making links with other manufacturers and suppliers which will stand Confoil in good stead in the highly competitive world of foil packaging,” he added.
