The majority of everyday Australians believe the Budget will be good for the economy, with the latest Newspoll showing 45 percent of participants are behind the Budget, while 33 percent believe it will be bad for the economy.
However, we are less confident with Treasuer Wayne Swan’s ability to get the Budget back in surplus within six years, with 58 percent believing it is not possible.
The Newspoll findings come just a day after an AC Nielsen Poll which found that Prime Minsiter Kevin Rudd is loosing favour with voters, as his popularity slumped 10 points, to 64 percent.
