The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is now available in Australia, with Vodafone and Optus, but not Telstra selling the mobile phone on plans starting at $59 per month.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the newest addition to the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones in Australia and follows the traditional ‘candy bar’ BlackBerry Mobile form factor with a full hardware keyboard and optical trackpad under 480×360 resolution display. Vodafone and Optus are expected to carry the BlackBerry Bold 9780 mobile phone, but the telcos are yet to announce final pricing and availability of the handset.
Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, promising new versions of the popular BlackBerry Messenger software among other tweaks and refinements to the BlackBerry phone user interface.
Adele Beachley, Managing Director for Australia at Research In Motion believes the BlackBerry Bold 9780 melds business and social needs perfectly.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is available on Optus business plans starting at $59/month, with Vodafone selling the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on business cap plans starting at $65/month. Telstra appears unlikely to sell the Blackberry Bold 9780 in Australia at this stage.
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 doesn’t have a touchscreen, should that be an important feature for your small business mobile phone, look at the BlackBerry Torch 9800 instead.
