Latest ABS statistics have revealed average weekly ordinary time earnings for full-time employees rose by 1.2 percent in the three months to May.
For those working in the private sector, the increase was slightly higher than the public sector at 1 percent, compared to 0.9 percent.
The figures also revealed that men are still slightly higher paid than women, with full-time adult ordinary time earnings increasing by 6.5 percent for males and 5.2 percent for females in the twelve months to May 2009.
