Australian businesses can order Microsoft Surface Hub from July

Microsoft has announced that Microsoft Surface Hub, their upcoming collaboration device, will be available to order from July.

The giant tech company aims for the large-screen device to be a big mover in the business market, pushing the hardware out with Windows 10, Skype for Business, Office, OneNote, and Universal Windows to drive productivity.

“While there are a number of devices designed to improve our productivity as individuals, there has yet to be a device that is truly optimised for a group of people to use together — designed not just for what we need to do, but how we want to work. Until now,” Microsoft Devices Corporate Vice President Mike Angiulo said in a press release.

“Just as the PC revolutionised productivity for individuals, Surface Hub will transform the way groups of people work together.”

The Surface Hub is boasting four features: Ink, a responsive tool that allows users to “write” on the device; Touch, ramped-up touch-screen capabilities that allow for multiple users at once; Windows 10 synchronisation, with Ink and Touch intergrated; and the inclusion of Microsoft Office Apps, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The Microsoft Surface Hub will be released in two configurations, Surface Hub 55-inch and Surface Hub 84-inch, with dual 1080p front-facing video cameras for videoconferencing included with both.

Microsoft says their Surface Hub and its related accessories will be available for order in 24 markets, including Australia and New Zealand, from early July. Global shipping will be taking place in September.
