University startup incubator set to launch across Australia

Earlier this year Dynamic Business introduced you to Incubate, the University of Sydney’s start up accelerator program, and told you it was looking to take over the country.

Thanks to its new partnership with Google, Incubate is well on its way to doing just that. Google will help Incubate bring its program to universities across Australia.

Alan Noble, engineering director for Google Australia, said the partnership with Incubate supports Google’s passion for entrepreneurship and start-up communities.

“We hope many of Australia’s future entrepreneurial leaders get their first startup experience via this program, and help contribute to our growing tech startup community,” Noble said.

As well as giving participants access to technology, platforms, mentors, and a network of entrepreneurs, Google will also provide Incubate with financial support.

For James Alexander, co-founder and program manager of Incubate, the partnership is the perfect move.

He said, “With Google’s help, we want to take the accelerator program to other campuses to create Australia’s first national network of global-thinking entrepreneurs at universities.”
