Kylie Nash of Bubs In Arms Gift Boxes has been selected as a finalist in the 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards for Best Boutique/Store.
The 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards celebrates and recognises Mums in Australia and New Zealand, who are achieving outstanding success in business. The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.
Bubs In Arms Gift Boxes deliver fashionable, fun, pampering and practical gifts for new mums and newborn babies all across Australia. To some the hard work of planning, shopping and wrapping a gift can be daunting, but to the founder of Bubs In Arms Gift Boxes, Kylie Nash, this task is a delight. Her business was born out of a need to purchase a baby gift that was modern, stylish in appearance and an alternative to a traditional ‘gift basket’.
There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood, as Nash explains, “I love the flexibility for my family and the challenges that present themselves each and every day. I complete many and varied tasks which keep me motivated and inspired to move forward. I can be adaptive and am able to mould my business life around and into your family life”.
It can be challenging to run a successful business whilst raising a family, so Nash has the following advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise.
“Generally my advice would be to ‘just do it’. If you have a passion that shines out of you then you should channel that enthusiasm into a business venture. Ultimately I believe that those mothers; that do have possess this quality along with determination to provide for their customers; will succeed.”
Winners will be selected by a public vote, with voting closing at midnight on 21 August 2011.
Nash is encouraging her local community in the Sunshine Coast to get behind her and vote for her online boutique. The winners of the 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at a dinner in Sydney on 27 August.
