Seminars to help businesses survive financial crisisNavigating your business through the global financial crisis is the theme of both a major conference and a seminar series scheduled within the next month.

The Australian Institute of Export and its partners will host a full-day conference with the theme ‘Managing your business in a turbulent global environment’. Keynote speaker is Dr John Edwards, chief economist at global bank HSBC, and others featured will include both commercial and government experts from organisations such as Coface, OzForex, Hunt & Hunt Lawyers, AusIndustry, the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) and Victoria’s Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development.

Separately, government trade organisations Austrade and EFIC will present a series of seminars in a number of capital cities entitled ‘Beyond the Financial Crisis: Emerging export and investment opportunities in an uncertain world’. The seminars are designed to address international business conditions, strategies for managing risk, and credit issues. Speakers include Tim Harcourt, chief economist at Austrade, and a number of senior trade commissioners from various regions.
