MyCareer launches iPhone app for job seekers

MyCareer, the job search and recruitment website owned by Fairfax newspapers has developed an iPhone app to help job seekers apply for jobs and upload CVs with their iPhone.

MyCareer iPhone AppMyCareer’s iPhone app is claimed to be an Australian first in employment, offering absolute convenience and flexibility for job hunters to apply anywhere any time. The MyCareer iPhone App opens up the opportunity for disenchanted employees to hunt for jobs discreetly while at work, where web usage may be monitored. For employers looking to curb such behaviour, banning iPhone use during work hours is likely to result in negative sentiment from employees, instead, investing in employees performance is seen as the better solution.

“This new app gives anyone who is seriously looking for a new job a real advantage over the competition. MyCareer.com.au is all about delivering the best jobs and best employers to our audience and this app further extends our ability to help people take that next step in their career,” said General Manager, Key Categories – Fairfax Media Melbourne , Tony Blamey.

Aside from efficiently identifying potential jobs, the MyCareer.com.au iPhone app also helps manage the entire job search process by sorting and shortlisting jobs, adding personal notes and comments, emailing potential jobs directly to the user’s email inbox, and syncing with an existing MyCareer account.

To download the app, simply open the App Store on the iPhone or access the App Store via iTunes on a computer and search for MyCareer. To learn more about the app, go to mycareer.com.au/iphone.
