The world’s thinnest notebook is here, or so says Apple, and with a maximum thickness of 1.9cm that thins to 0.4cms, we’re not surprised. While on the skinny side, MacBook Air is no lightweight when it comes to capabilities. Still with a full-size keyboard and a 13-inch display screen, it also has built-in iSight and a spacious trackpad with multi-touch gesture support so you can ‘pinch’, ‘rotate’ and ‘swipe’.
The MacBook comes with iLife as well, and includes new versions of iPhoto and iMovie. And with a backlit keyboard for dimly lit environments and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts both the brightness of keys and display, you shouldn’t have any problems with visibility.
Retailing at $2,499 (August 2008 price), the energy efficient notebook contains a mercury-free LCD display and an aluminium enclosure, ideal for later recycling.
