The current economic situation isn’t slowing DesignCrowd.com down, which is enjoying record sales thanks to staggering growth of 336 percent in the last 12 months.
After launching in 2008 during the Global Financial Crisis, this Australian crowdsourcing start-up is skilled in dealing with business during difficult times.
“We’ve been able to grow during the downturn because we save businesses money and because we offer an innovative service that’s not going to change,” DesignCrowd Founder Alec Lynch said.
DesignCrowd invites designers from around the world to provide artwork for companies looking for custom designs. All projects are listed online with briefs, deadlines and project budgets.
Over 50,000 users from more than 50 countries participate in the site. Designers are flocking to the site, which now hosts three times more designers than those employed full time in Australia.
“We’ve found if you fix a problem and save people money people will still buy your service,” Lynch said.
The last six months have proven successful for DesignCrowd as it doubled in size and almost tripled revenue.
International expansion by opening an office in the US is next on the cards.
