Australians are more positive than residents in the US and UK about the possibility of eventually becoming a millionaire, despite continued economic uncertainty around the world.
An AP-CNBC poll found that although becoming a millionaire is an aspirational goal, Australians are more optimistic about the likelihood they will achieve it within the next decade, with 29 percent of locals hoping it will become a reality compared with 21 percent in the US and 8 percent in the UK.
To assist in making this hope a reality, CNBC has opened its ‘Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge’ to Australian and UK permanent residents for the first time.
The challenge is a 10-week, global fantasy stock and currency trading competition, with the winner to walk away with $US1 million.
