90% of workers read documents left at printer

Canon ImageRunner

Nine out of ten office workers confess they have read other print jobs left at the printer while another 70% of office workers complained that they have had a print job go missing from the printer. These revelations have come out of research into Australian office printing commissioned by Canon this month revealing a general lack of security around document handling in Australian offices.

“While not every office deals in highly sensitive information each time they print, it is good to know that when they do there is a system in place to look after the secure handling of their documentation,” said Jeremy Plint, Assistant General Manager, Product Marketing (Business) for Canon Australia.

“The imageRUNNER ADVANCE series has been designed to reduce costs and address these issues to help employees get back to focusing on what they do best, rather than spend time waiting at the printer, or tracking down their print jobs.”

Additionally the research highlighted that more than 90% of Australian office workers have had to wait at the printer due to inefficient print queues, while more than half of office workers have been delayed due to printers being offline for maintenance.
