The invitation-only shopping platform that’s now open to all Australian businesses

Temu’s invitation-only seller program opens to all Australian businesses, offering access to the country’s fastest-growing e-commerce marketplace.

The invitation-only era is over. Temu’s Local Seller Program has officially opened to all qualified Australian businesses, creating what could be the most accessible pathway yet for local merchants to tap into the booming e-commerce marketplace.

Any Australian-registered business with locally stocked inventory can now join the platform that’s been making waves across the retail landscape. The move signals a major shift in how local businesses can compete in the digital marketplace, offering a simplified route to expand online and grow sales nationwide without the traditional barriers to entry.

A new revenue stream for local business

The timing couldn’t be better for Australian merchants looking to diversify their sales channels. With Temu ranking as the fastest-growing website in Australia according to Similarweb’s 2025 Digital 100 Australia report, boasting a 72% increase in unique visitors year-over-year, local sellers are gaining access to a genuinely high-traffic digital marketplace.

The platform’s reach extends far beyond Australia, with sellers in over 20 countries including the U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, and South Korea already participating in their respective markets. Perhaps most encouragingly for new sellers, over 50% of businesses on Temu make their first sale within 20 days, helping them tap into new opportunities and connect with consumers quickly.

For local businesses, this represents more than just another sales channel. The program provides direct access to integrated tools for managing orders, shipping, and fulfillment. Many sellers are already leveraging cloud-based shipping services like ShipStation, which integrated with the platform in April 2025, to streamline logistics and meet customer demand more efficiently.

Since launching in the U.S. in September 2022, Temu has rapidly gained user popularity and now operates in over 90 global markets, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The platform entered the Australian market in March 2023, where it has received positive feedback by offering a broad selection of products at competitive prices, supported by an efficient supply chain.

The numbers speak for themselves. Apple’s App Store data shows that Temu was the most downloaded iPhone app in Australia for 2024 and the only shopping app to make the top 10 free apps list in Apple’s rankings. For local sellers, this translates to unprecedented access to engaged consumers actively seeking products and deals.
