A KPMG Mood of the Market Survey has revealed SMEs are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and are preparing for growth.
The KPMG survey of 100 companies employing between 51 and 200 people, revealed almost half expected to increase their market share in the next year due to their competitors weakened position; while one in five companies are hoping to buy assets from under performing peers next year due to fallout from the recent downturn.
Graeme Matthews, national managing partner of KPMG middle market advisory practice, said stronger, better run business will take advantage of the weakness of their competitors.
“Businesses are now looking at a shimmering light at the end of the tunnel, and contemplating strategies to make it burn a little brighter,” he said.
