OpenAI unveils ChatGPT Enterprise for businesses

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Enterprise, an advanced version of its AI-powered chatbot designed for businesses.

This move comes as OpenAI responds to concerns about AI’s potential negative impacts and seeks to cater to business needs. ChatGPT Enterprise offers enhanced security and privacy features, making it suitable for corporate use. Prominent businesses such as Carlyle and PwC have already embraced this new solution.

This upgraded version of ChatGPT offers several valuable features to aid enterprises:

  1. Unlimited GPT-4 Access: Enterprises can benefit from limitless access to the advanced capabilities of GPT-4, allowing for a more refined and efficient interaction.
  2. Extended Context Windows: With 32k context, users can process longer inputs or files, making data analysis and complex tasks more manageable.
  3. Data Analysis Capabilities: ChatGPT Enterprise includes advanced data analysis tools, akin to Code Interpreter, which helps both technical and non-technical teams analyze information swiftly. It’s useful for tasks like market data analysis, survey result interpretation, and debugging scripts.
  4. Customizable Chat Templates: Businesses can collaborate using shared chat templates, facilitating the creation of standardized workflows that suit their needs.
  5. Enhanced Privacy and Security: OpenAI emphasizes data protection. ChatGPT Enterprise is SOC 2 compliant and ensures conversations are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Administrators gain more control through the new admin console, which offers domain verification, Single Sign-On (SSO), and usage insights.
  6. Tailoring to Business Needs: For organizations that require more customized solutions, ChatGPT Enterprise can be integrated with OpenAI’s API, allowing businesses to create bespoke AI-powered solutions.

Several notable companies, including Block, Canva, and Zapier, have already integrated ChatGPT Enterprise. For instance, Klarna, a global payments and shopping service, is utilizing ChatGPT Enterprise to enhance its employee capabilities and improve customer experiences.

This new version of ChatGPT is designed to save time, boost productivity, and assist in various business operations. It offers a flexible, secure, and efficient solution for companies seeking AI-powered assistance.

ChatGPT Enterprise is available now, providing businesses with the tools they need to leverage AI for enhanced communication, problem-solving, and efficiency.

Jamie Moles, Senior Manager – Technical Marketing at ExtraHop said: “It’s interesting to see OpenAI officially launch a business version of ChatGPT, especially considering their relationship with Microsoft. The security community at large has raised concerns since late last year about the potential for employee misuse to cause data leakage into ChatGPT, risking the model to train off sensitive information and use that information for other prompts with no consequences. As a result, we’ve seen countless organisations create and sell their own generative AI model directly to businesses to solve this problem, but with the biggest player in the game now offering enterprises their own privatised AI service, I expect to see this to shake up the AI industry.

“Despite the new level of privacy, any organisation using generative AI tools should still use their best judgment when inputting sensitive information or data into the model, make sure employees have guidelines on how to use these tools for their specific roles, and organisations should still regulate in what capacity these tools can be used. Regardless, this is a smart idea for OpenAI as it will inbound sales opportunities from some of the largest enterprises around the world, but with Microsoft’s investment in OpenAI intended to move the tech giant’s AI initiative in a similar direction, it will be interesting to see how this mutual competition will play out in the coming months.”
