Online content marketing grows in popularity

Growing demand for high quality online content is driving business for Australian web content producers, says Brisbane content marketer and copywriter Joanne Grey, of Spotted Wombat.

According to Grey, as the investment in traditional marketing such as television and effective newspaper advertising dwindles, more companies are investing in consistent, targeted and valuable content.

“One of the great benefits of online content marketing is that it remains permanently on your site, allowing search engines to find you easily and ensuring the best possible value for your dollar,” she said.

Forrester Research discovered in 2008 that 90 percent of all purchasing decisions began online, highlighting the need for effective online content, says Grey.

“Fresh and regular updates to your web content mean higher listings on the internet, especially with Google’s new plan to date-stamp all new information. If your information is old, you’ll soon slip down to the bottom of search engine listings.”
