Jobs and the economy are expected to be the key concerns for Labor’s first national conference today.
The three-day conference will see state and territory leaders and 400 delegates from around the nation gather for the first national conference with federal Labor in government since the early 1990s.
Jobs and the economy are expected to dominate the conference, and according to reports in Business Spectator, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is likely to deliver a sober message in his first address, similar to his 6,000 word essay from last weekend, warning of “real challenges and stresses,” ahead.
The conference will feature a range of policy debates over the three days, including education, health, the economy and regional and local communities.
