Google Australia has taken the honour of the best place to work, after topping the charts of the BRW’s Top 50 Great Places to work list.
The list was based on research conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute Australia which surveyed more than 15,000 employees.
BRW said the reason Google Australia is such a great place to work is that they have created a corporate culture of fun, appreciation, perks and rewards for staff.
Part of this ‘fun’ includes exciting facilities such as beanbag-filled meeting rooms, ping-pong tables and a free cafeteria.
The results of the poll highlight that the most important factor in job happiness for employees is perks with many of the top ten firms offering everything from free iPods, international travel along with corporate health perks such as on-site fitness and subsidised gym memberships.
Those firms to make the top ten include: NetApp Australia (IT), Russel Investments (Financial), Diaego (Manufacturing), Dynamic Property Services (Property Management), ETM Group (Business Travel), BDM Group (Construction), MRWED (Educational training), Red Balloon (Retail) and OBS (IT).
