Facebook offers $100 million to small businesses

 Facebook’s Small Business Grants Programme is offering USD $100 million in cash grants and ad credits to small businesses.

Up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries may receive a grant.

Eligible businesses must:

  • Be a for-profit company
  • Have between 2 and 50 employees as of 1 January 2020
  • Have been in business for over a year
  • Have experienced challenges due to COVID-19
  • Be in or near a location where Facebook operates

Applications for small businesses in Australia are now open. Applications will close on the 22 September.

This grant is available to businesses that are in a location where Facebook has an office: Melbourne and Sydney.

Small businesses do not need to have a Facebook presence to apply.

There is approximately AUD $3 million available for 465 eligible Australian small businesses. Each grant is approximately AUD $6,400. This roughly comprises of AUD $4,000 in cash and AUD $2,400 in optional ad credits.

To apply, you will need to have the latest 2020 copy of your ASIC registration extract.

The Small Business Grants Programme is part of an ongoing commitment to small business. Since 2018 Facebook have reached over 18,000 Australian small businesses with free education and support through the Boost with Facebook programme, which helps SMEs in regional communities and those affected by drought, bushfires and the pandemic.
