The global financial crisis has seen consumers flocking to financial comparison website InfoChoice.com.au to research and compare interest rates.
Research released from Hitwise Senior Analyst, Sandra Hanchard claims an increase in mortgage interest rates by the majors has prompted financial commentators to encourage consumers to shop around for deals from a range of financial institutions.
According to Hanchard, searches for ‘home loans’ by Australian internet users doubled during the week ending 20 June 2009, reaching the highest point in search volume since late April 2009. Infochoice dominated financial comparison websites clearly with over 50 percent market share of visits for the week ending 20 June 2009.
InfoChoice attributes its growth to its on-going efforts to improve the user experience and the increasing relevance of interest rates in today’s economic times.
Shaun Cornelius, CEO of InfoChoice said they regularly provide expert commentary to the media on related topics, compare banking products and provide a range of content and tools to help visitors choose products, which is appealing to consumers.
