Message other Blackberry addicts for free

If you want to stay connected with your friends and colleagues on your BlackBerry smartphone, then why not download the latest version of BlackBerry Messenger (BlackBerry free instant messaging service*).

BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 assigns each BlackBerry user a personal bar code icon which can be scanned by other BlackBerry users to quickly add new friends and colleagues to one’s contact list.

Available free in App World, BlackBerry Messenger 5.0’s expanded capabilities also include:

New Group Functionality – Create or join a group of people in order to stay connected and share experiences in real-time. Chat and share location updates, address books, calendars, photos, lists and more. A single group can contain up to 30 members.

Avatar – Set up a display picture as your personal avatar which will automatically be seen by your contacts. BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 also populates avatars for contacts from BlackBerry Contacts.

Large Media File Transfer – BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 also allows you to share large media files of up to 6MB in size, including higher resolution pictures and longer voice notes.

*Messages sent via BlackBerry Messenger are free as part of a BlackBerry Data Plan.
