AusMumpreneur awards open for nominations

Connect2Mums AusMumpreneur Catherine Oehlman is still basking in the glory of winning the award last year and encourages all Australian businesses to nominate for the awards – and not just mums in business.

mumpreneurThe AusMumpreneur winner will be a magazine cover star, respected speaker and representative of a national organisation. Since being crowned the 2009 AusMumpreneur, Catherine has enjoyed stronger readership at her blog and increased attention from the media, making her a sought-after blogger and interviewee.

“Everything changed for me the night I won the Connect2Mums top award,” Cathering explained.

“I stopped seeing myself as a teacher-turned-mum with a blog, and started seeing myself as a mumpreneur with an emerging business.

“It not only changed the way others saw me but also the way I saw myself,” she said, encouraging others to put themselves forward.

“Nominating yourself is about saying, ‘This is who I am, this is what I’m doing and this is why others should know about my business.’ I believe there are times to be humble, and there are times to stand up proudly. These awards are an opportunity to shine.”
