American Express, the Shop Small initiative, has returned to Australia for its 11th year, emphasizing the vital role played by small businesses in the country and encouraging shoppers to demonstrate their support.
This year, American Express is introducing a new element by offering eligible small businesses in Australia the opportunity to win one of ten $10,000 Shop Small Business Grants. This initiative complements their ongoing commitment to stimulate spending at small businesses through exclusive offers for American Express Card Members.
Starting today, every transaction made with an American Express card at a Shop Small business, whether in-store or online, throughout the month of November, will automatically grant the customer an entry into a draw for a chance to win one of ten $10,000 Shop Small Business Grants.
American Express, Shop Small businesses, are automatically enrolled in this promotion and are eligible for the opportunity to win.
In addition, American Express is extending an exciting opportunity to eligible Card Members, where they can win a share of 10 million points. After enrolling in the Shop Small offer, each time a Card Member uses their registered American Express Card to make a purchase at a Shop Small business, they have the chance to win 1 million Membership Rewards points, Qantas points, or Velocity points, depending on their specific loyalty program. The more transactions they make, the higher their chances of winning.
Emily Roberts, Vice President and General Manager of Consumer and Commercial Services at American Express emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, underscoring that they are the lifeblood of communities and the foundation of the economy. She expressed the belief that these businesses require the collective support of the community to prosper.
“Australians are proud to support local in the knowledge that every dollar spent with a small business is important in maintaining the vibrancy of local communities and the livelihoods of hard-working small business operators. We look forward to seeing shoppers backing small businesses, especially during the all-important lead up to Christmas.”
