The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has inducted a new board this week, electing new national President Simon Goodrich.
AIMIA, the governing body for Australia’s peak digital media industry association, elected Goodrich following long-standing AIMIA President Guys Gadney’s decision to stand down from the role.
Mr Goodrich, the Managing Director of Portable and former President of AIMIA Victoria, says he is excited to step up to the role of AIMIA President.
“I look forward to continuing the great work that Guy Gadney did in leading AIMIA over the past four years. I am keen to continue to make AIMIA relevant in the ever-changing digital industries. This will happen by ensuring we continue to provide outstanding services to our members as well as capitalising on emerging industries as they form” said new AIMIA National President Simon Goodrich. “The next few years will see digital become more prevalent in our daily lives, the roll out of high speed broadband and the continued adoption of digital services by all facets of business. I am keen to see AIMIA play a part in this and provide greater opportunities for our members to participate in this growing economy,” says Mr Goodrich.
Outgoing President Mr Gadney offers his full support to the newly elected board.
“AIMIA runs the longest-standing digital media awards in the world, runs the most events of any digital media organization in Australia, and has the best and most engaged group of members I have ever met. It has been a privilege to work with AIMIA CEO John Butterworth and the Board to build up AIMIA. I am confident that Simon has exactly the sort of energy that’s needed to take AIMIA to the next level,” says Mr Gadney.
