In January this year, Dean McEvoy’s group buying site, Spreets, was snapped up by Yahoo!7 for $40 million. It was a stunning coup for Spreets, which was launched only 10 months earlier but clearly had perfectly timed the group buying wave led worldwide by outfits like Groupon and LivingSocial.
