A Newspoll commissioned by Lifeline Australia revealed almost nine out of ten Australians are stressed, with the majority citing work as the cause.
The poll revealed 87 percent of the 1,200 people surveyed were stressed. Of those, 73 percent said they were stressed about work and 17 percent said they were “highly stressed” about work.
Four out of ten people said they experienced “unhealthy” stress levels with three quarters attributing work as the major cause.
Two-thirds of the respondents also stressed over money and one in five were “highly stressed” over it.
The poll also found factors including health and personal relationships can cause high levels of stress.
