The Toga Group was established in 1963 by current Executive Chairman Ervin Vidor, and has enjoyed 46 years of history and growth. The Australian, privately owned hotel group has more than 1,800 staff across Australia, New Zealand and Europe. It has interests in property development, design, construction and project management, investment and asset management, funds management, hospitality investment management and aquaculture.
Toga Hospitality is one of Australia’s largest accommodation providers, currently operating 51 strategically located hotels and apartment hotels in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The hotel brands include Medina Apartment Hotels (23 locations across Australia), Vibe Hotels (seven locations in Australia) and Travelodge (16 locations across Australia and New Zealand) and boast more than 6,500 apartments and hotel rooms. In Europe, Adina Apartment Hotels are located in Berlin, Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Budapest (five locations).
Toga Hospitality began its operations with the opening of the Medina Classic at Randwick, Sydney, in 1982. The company has spent the last 27 years expanding the Medina Hotel brand to key locations throughout Australia. In 2003, Toga Hospitality launched a new concept in accommodation to further expand the company’s Australian presence, by opening the first Vibe Hotel in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay. Since this time the group has opened additional Vibe Hotels in Melbourne, Darwin and the Gold Coast.
In 2005, Toga entered into a long-term agreement to manage Travelodge Hotels in Australia and New Zealand. The following year saw Toga Hospitality became the first Australian accommodation chain to launch in continental Europe with the opening of Adina Apartment Hotel Copenhagen and Adina Apartment Hotel Budapest.
Today, Toga Hospitality is considered one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups with an estimated worth of $445 million according to BRW.
