Gloria Jeans has collected two honours in the 2011 Australian Business Awards, being named alongside a number of big businesses recognised for being progressive and innovative.
With over 900 entries from businesses in the private, public and non-profit sectors, the 2011 Australian Business Awards recognise businesses that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, corporate responsibility, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries.
The Gloria Jeans franchise took home awards for Marketing Excellence and Community Contribution, whilst Optus, Deloitte, Canon Australia, Corporate Express, Queensland Rail and Veolia Environmental Services were just some of the 103 other businesses recognised.
Deloitte was one of the year’s biggest winners, collecting three awards for Marketing Excellence, Recommended Employer and Product Innovation for its Bamboo smartphone app.
Queensland Rail also picked up multiple awards, in the Innovation, Recommended Employer and Community Contribution categories, the last of which recognises policies or projects that positively impact the community and generate outcomes that have a long-term benefit.
Optus was also a winner in the Recommended Employer category, while office supply leader Corporate Express and waste management company Veolia Environmental Services both claimed the award for Environmental Sustainability.
Canon Australia won both the Product Excellence and Best Value Product awards for its uniFLOW output management system for printing and copying.
Program Director Tara Johnston said the standard of entries for 2011 is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Australian economy.
“Australian businesses continue to adapt business processes, invest in product development and develop dynamic e-business initiatives that increase productivity and quality standards for all.”
