Tech Tuesday: Say goodbye to Google Optimize and hello to these ten alternatives

Recently, Google announced that Google Optimize and Optimize 360 will sunset this year on September 30.

Google Optimize is a popular conversion rate optimisation platform that businesses widely use to optimise their websites and improve customer experience. However, with Google’s recent announcement to “sunset” the platform, businesses now face the challenge of finding a new solution to continue their optimisation efforts.

This sudden change has resulted in short-term disruption for businesses as they scramble to find and implement a new CRO platform. The migration process from one platform to another is time-consuming and requires technical expertise, which can be challenging for businesses with limited resources.

Moreover, businesses need to ensure that the new platform they choose is compatible with their existing systems and processes and can provide similar or even better results than Google Optimize. The process of sourcing and evaluating a new platform, integrating it into the existing systems and processes, and re-implementing all optimisation efforts can take several weeks or even months.

Myles Humphrey, the Head of Experience Specialized Services at Resolution Digital, has provided insight on how businesses can smoothly transition after the announcement of Google’s plan to “sunset” Google Optimize.

He stated that two main groups of customers would be impacted: those who use Google Optimize for easy and free entry into Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) testing and established customers who have built their processes around Google Optimize and its integration with Google Analytics.

Humphrey encouraged businesses not to be afraid, as there are well-established and, in some cases, stronger alternatives available. A solid process and creative testing are always key to a successful CRO. For established practitioners, the change is an inconvenience and an opportunity to explore other platforms and expect improvements in GA integration.

For those new to CRO who relied on the free offering, alternative options are becoming available, or they can work with agencies or contractors that already have platform relationships in place.

When choosing a new platform, businesses should consider their maturity, technology stack, and scale. The Resolution Digital Experience team is available to assist in the transition. These insights can make data-driven decisions, improve customer experience, and increase efficiency and profitability.
