Over 300 free and low cost events will be run across the state of Victoria during August for the annual Small Business Festival.
With events held in metropolitan Melbourne and regional locations, as well as webinars for those interstate, the event covers off the full gamut of small business ownership.
Running 1-31 August, speakers include some of Australia’s most influential business men and women. These include Communication Strategist and regular panelist on ABC’s Gruen Planet, Carolyn Miller, and media identity, ARIA award-winning songwriter and successful businesswoman, Clare Bowditch.
Last year’s event attracted over 33,000 attendees, with 92 per cent stating they had gained new skills and knowledge applicable to the development of their business.
This year, there will also be an increased number of events held outside business hours and in Melbourne’s outer suburbs. The six regional partner festivals are in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Gippsland, North East Victoria and Warrnambool. This year’s event topics include:
- Online marketing and sales
- Financial management
- Grants and assistance
- Social media
- Business development
