The recruitment industry in Australia is preparing its self for a new contender with the launch of Australia’s first SMS job alert technology, SMS Me Jobs
SMS Me Jobs is the first of its kind in Australia and possibly the world. The technology has been developed by Natasha Zurnamer, a Sydney based recruiter and founder of Ragtradejobs.com and other industry-specific job boards.
The technology is a reaction to the mobile savvy Gen Y group of job seekers and those looking to employ them. The service will provide job alerts to the users mobile phone as soon as a job matching their criteria is posted, and it will also allow the user to apply for the job via SMS.
"As a fasion recruiter it became obvious to me that looking for a job was a chore," Natasha said.
The creators belived the SMS system would be popular amongst those people not wanting to have other office or workplace members stumble upon their job search, which may happen if the job seeker uses a large computer screen in an open plan office.
