A new national awards program has been launched to recognise the efforts of small businesses in Australia.
The Australian Small Business Champion Awards are open to businesses with 100 employees or less across retail, services and manufacturing sectors.
Previously the NSW Small Business Champion of Champion Awards, organisers have opened the awards to a state and national level with support from Commonwealth Local Business Banking and the Australian Government.
Awards are offered in 29 categories, including gift services, jewellery stores, florists, business services, and new business (less than two years old). Entrants are also eligible to enter awards recognising the Champion Small Businses Entrepreneur and the Young Champion Small Business Entrepreneur.
Entries close 20 July, with state and territory awards held during August and October. All finalists become eligible for the national awards held on 3 November, with one business named Small Business Champion Entreprenery and taking home a prize to the value of $40,000.
