MEGA, a 12-week entrepreneurial program supported by the South Australian Government and managed by the Majoran co-working community, is to have its annual Pitch Day tomorrow.
This year’s MEGA Pitch Day will see six brand-new startups pitch to a panel of industry leaders for prizes of more than $30,000.
This year’s judging panel consists of Colette Grgic, Startup Advisor at Sydney-based venture-tech company Blue Chilli Technology; Russell Ivanovic, Co-founder of podcasting app Pocket Casts; and James Martin, Managing Director of international education company Insider Foundry.
The startups will be pitching the judges a variety of innovative ideas, including a co-working app, health apps, and apps targeting the food and wine industry.
“MEGA is not like a normal course,” says MEGA Program Facilitator John Saldin.
“It can be confronting when you have your idea criticised by mentors and the peers in the program. But to see the teams and participants develop and learn through the program is very rewarding.”
The MEGA program began in 2006, with an aim to help place startups on the path to developing new products and services for global markets.
“The fact we’ve been around for this long and counting shows off a good track record,” Michael Reid, MEGA Program Director, tells Dynamic Business.
“MEGA helps entrepreneurs get the help they need to find the big idea they’ve been looking for. After attending the program, we’ve seen small startups go on to much bigger and better things.”
Tomorrow’s Pitch Day takes place at Allan Scott Auditorium, UniSA City West Building H, 10am – 2.30pm.
