Greater Building Society iPhone App launched

Greater Building Society has launched an iPhone app that will allow customers to locate ATMs, branches and access to internet banking.

Greater Building Society Jerry SeinfeldChief Information Officer Bruce White said that the Greater had built more features into the app than the apps that are currently available from other building societies.

The app will help people to locate and get directions to their nearest Greater ATM, rediATM or Greater branch. It also provides one touch connection to the Greater’s website and its Internet banking service. One touch calling of branches and other key customer support lines is also available, as is the ability to email the Greater directly from the iphone.

Mr White said this was the Greater’s first foray into providing smartphone services to customers. He said that the Greater is working towards the implementation of a mobile banking platform that will allow smartphone users full functionality and access to a range of account services, whenever and wherever they choose.

“Our use of Livechat, Twitter and now iPhone apps, shows that the Greater can definitely keep up with the big banks when it comes to using new ways to communicate with and assist its customers,” Mr White said.

“The Greater’s new iPhone app is another way we are helping our customers to do business with us,” he said.

The free app is available for download from iTunes.

The Greater Building Society operates in regional NSW, south east Queensland and in Townsville. It has an independently determined customer satisfaction rating of 95 percent. With some help from Jerry Seinfeld, the Greater is promoting itself as a better alternative to the major banks.

The Greater Building Society has been named the 2010 Building Society of the Year in the AFR Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Awards and the 2010 Mozo People’s Choice Awards.
