The Australian unemployment rate has jumped to 5.4 percent in October, up 0.2 percent on the previous month, despite an additional 29,700 jobs being created in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics announced today.
Job ads in Australia are up 36.1 percent in the year to August, with the latest ANZ Job Advertisements Series data showing the total number of jobs advertised up to an average of 176,239 per week (seasonally adjusted).
Job ads grew by 2.7 percent in June, following an increase of 2.7 percent in May according to the latest data in the ANZ Job Advertisements Series.
Figures out from ANZ show the Australian economy showing a strong post-GFC recovery with job ads surging almost 21 percent since January.
