Freelancer.com buys LimeExchange for an ‘undisclosed sum’

Freelancer.com, the Sydney based worldwide outsourcing marketplace connecting small business with freelancers has acquired LimeExchange.com, run by Lime Labs LLC for an undisclosed sum.

Freelancer Fast 50LimeExchange.com offers a similar service to Freelancer.com and boasted over 80,000 freelancers from 223 countries, and brings Freelancer.com’s userbase to almost 2 million globally. Freelancer.com acquisition of LimeExchange’s will see all users migrate across to the Freelancer.com platform and illustrates the aggressive moves by Freelancer.com to become the dominant platform for freelancers in the world. All of LimeExchange’s members will be provided with two months of free gold membership on LinkExchange.com, with ongoing projects on LimeExchange able to be migrated to Freelancer.com on request at no charge.

“We are pleased to announce that we are acquiring LimeExchange and providing continuity to the businesses and freelancers currently working on that platform”, said Matt Barrie, Chief Executive of Freelancer.com. “Lime Exchange employers can now access a talent pool of almost 2 million professionals globally, and freelancers can access a project pool with 870,000 projects completed to date.”

Freelancer.com connects small businesses with freelancers across the world, enabling them to get small jobs done at a fraction of the price of hiring locally. Almost any job can now be outsourced online, across a wide range of industries including software, web design, marketing and engineering. Projects start as low as $30, and average under $200.
