I wrote an article for Dynamic Business nearly a year ago that I want to revisit.

Hands up if you’ve ever broken up with someone? Hands up if you ever been dumped, BEFORE you got a chance to end it? Good times….

I suspect I’m about to sacrifice a few sacred cows here – consider yourselves forewarned.

I have actually been described as a Facebook addicted crack whore…but that’s a discussion for another day. So what I’m saying is this post is my opinion.

I once led a walk out from a café…

My friend Nate introduced me to his friend Chris, who has a cat called Trevor. Trevor isn’t really Chris’ cat in the traditional sense. He’s more Chris’ cat in the “visits when hungry, bored or wants to lie in the sun on the deck” kind of way.

Me and my mate Michelle were amongst the 10,000 odd folk who took part in the HBF Run for a Reason in Perth on Sunday. Kudos to HBF on a great event, by the way. It WAS actually fun and I know for the fact that if it wasn’t for the intermittent Samba bands and school girl cheer leaders along the route I for one wouldn’t have made it.

I don’t generally deal in the currency of regret. I struggle to think of any other emotional pastime more useless, futile and unproductive. Unless you count the 12 months I spent longing, no pining for Inter Milan super hero Nicola Berti after a stint living in Italy during the early 90’s.

I’ve struggled with being open about this because the memory still makes me feel a bit grimy, but I feel it’s time to come out with it.

I am one of those people who finds it a little hard to wind down. I’m a pretty driven person – a lot of us in business are. But you COULD say I’ve been known to be more tightly coiled than the springs under John Candy’s bed. I know it’s a bad visual, but I needed to make a point.
